Life Skills
At GEMS, our Practical Life Skills program is designed to empower children with the independence and confidence they need for everyday life. We focus on teaching essential skills such as self-care, basic cooking, and baking, as well as tasks that promote responsibility and self-sufficiency. Through hands-on activities, children learn to take care of themselves and their environment, develop fine motor skills, and gain a sense of accomplishment from completing tasks on their own. These experiences lay the groundwork for confident, capable, and independent individuals.
Self-Care: Learning basic hygiene, dressing, and self-feeding.
Cooking & Baking: Introduction to simple kitchen tasks, like mixing, measuring, and preparing basic recipes.
General Independence: Encouraging children to take initiative in tasks like tidying up, organizing their belongings, and making choices.
Responsibility: Developing a sense of duty through age-appropriate chores and personal accountability.
